Wu-Tang Clan tapped Cher to contribute vocals to two songs on their upcoming secret album The Wu – Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. Hear a snippet of their recording below.

Forbes writer Zack O’Malley Greenberg traveled to Marrakesh, Morocco to be the first person to hear the album, which is supposedly being kept in a vault in said country. The group is only pressing one copy and selling to the highest bidder. Tarik “Cilvaringz” Azzougarh, the album’s producer, played one song on-camera featuring Ghostface Killah. The end of track features a female voice singing “Wu-Tang, baby. They rock the world,” which O’Malley assumes is Cher. Check it out:

Of the album, producer Cilvaringz said:

“It’s a conceptual record where you’re trying to go back to ’93 to ’97, that glorious time. To get brothers into that mode again, as if they just came off the street, as if they were still out there trying to make a living and surviving, it’s difficult … You’re trying to get them into an aggressive mode and the beats are aggressive, and funny enough, it drew it out of them, the beats actually commanded the way they performed.”

The producer also mentioned that he’s gotten high bids already, ranging in $5 to $10 million area. The group does plan to go on tour, but it’ll be a little different. The album will be taken to galleries and other exhibitions spaces where fans would pay $30–$50 to listen to the two-hour recording on headphones.
