Lily Allen’s New Music Video: Fuck You

Lily Allens New Music Video: Fuck You

Yes, that’s the real song title but if you were already a Lily Allen fan, you would have known that.

The Brit-pop star has always been known for her blunt mouth in reality but cunning communication in songwriting. Well, “F*ck You” is a little obvious but it has a good message from start to end with opening lyrics such as “Look inside your tiny mind, now look a bit harder – ‘Cause we’re so uninspired, so sick and tired, from all the hatred you harbor.” It’s obvious that Lily would have voted NO on Prop 8, and her video “F*ck You” may just illustrate her disapproval for people who voted yes.

Although the censoring in the song is a bit rough for radio edit, the video is still enjoyable along with the lyrics as she shows you a day in the life of Lily Allen. (At one point, her sunglasses reminisce an effect of dichotomy that was in her video, “LDN.”) Check it out below!

Yes; it’s a tough question because his artistry has spanned over numerous decades and so many songs soundtrack moments in our lives.

Poll: How Upset Do You Get About Canceled Shows?

It’s always a pain when you’re really excited for your favorite artist or band to come to town only to find out that the show has been canceled. Reasons given are usually sickness, scheduling conflicts, or personal emergencies but it’s always somewhat of a letdown.

Concert-goers are usually told that either their tickets will be refunded or that the band will schedule a show later on in the year. All of this is usually okay, especially when the band members’ lives are in jeopardy. For instance, Pitchfork has reported that The Dirty Projectors had to cancel tonight’s show in Toronto because their van flipped over in Detroit, MI. Although members have been discharged from the hospital, the band has taken off tomorrow night’s show in Montreal off as well.

You can read The Dirty Projectors’ official statement below as well as take a poll in regards to your feelings about canceled shows.

Poll: Do You Listen To Tributes and Covers?

Most people think cover bands are lame, but is a “cover,” itself, lame?

We all know how it is when we first want to learn an instrument, whether it is the piano or the guitar. We want to emulate the artists we admire and we want to learn how to play our favorite songs. That is probably the reason why so many people try to play “Smoke on the Water” when they first give the guitar a try. There are more and more tribute artists out there and our favorite indie acts are performing covers of their favorite tracks during shows all the time. It’s not the original but it can sound pretty damn good depending on which way the artist re-interprets both the lyrics and the music.

Trent Reznor11 Trent Reznor Comes Back To Twitter

Just about over a week ago, Trent Reznor vehemently gave everyone a long rant on why he was quitting Twitter and all other online social platforms. In a nutshell, Reznor was sick of all places where “idiots rule,” and decided to actually live life for a while as he avoided all the online communities he disapproved.

But what’s this? @trent_reznor is back in action with his posts such as “Just visited my 1st Euro festival toilet. This shit is on!” followed by ones like “And fuck you, trolls. I’ll tweet if I feel like it.” …What?
