One of two historical things will happen on June 18th. The rapper dropped a huge hint on Twitter, and we have more details on that below. Also, the awesome Gaslamp Killer has completely reworked Heliocentric’s recently-released album 13 Degrees of Reality, and we think you should really listen to the mix. All that and more below.

Radiohead fans are awesome (I know because I’m one of them). Anyway, some fans gathered to create a video of the band’s New York concert, which took place a few years ago (maybe you remember). You can see the full concert below. Also, Metallica cut ties with Warner Brothers and announced their own new record label. And, Forbes named Dr. Dre the top earning musician of the year. Adele‘s “Someone Like You” has enjoyed much success, from being on Top Charts around the world to the critical praise. But when Adele sat down to write this song, she probably didn’t have ‘Grammy’ on her mind – she was writing from her broken heart. Naturally, “Someone Like You” has become a popular cover song for other famous singers like Katy Perry as well as many unknowns on YouTube. Recently, a band of newcomers called Crowd/Theory jumped on the bandwagon and covered the song. Their video has gathered thousands of views and we decided we’d bring it to your attention. Check it out below.

It’s that time again, gang—Thanksgiving weekend is upon us. With the beginning of the holiday season comes a time to begin making a list of the things we are all thankful for, and we here at Beatcrave have made our own special list. A catalogue of the five musical moments that pleased us the most in 2012, our list contains such news items as a major pop band’s hiatus (thank God it finally happened), a rock ‘n roll idol ending months of rumors that he may be retiring by announcing a new tour, the announcement that someone was a “Douchebag,” a surprise baby-daddy announcement, and more. It was a weird year for music, but these five items gave us something to be thankful for.

Halloween is just around the corner! If you haven’t made plans yet, that’s all right. One thing we know you’ll all be doing is jamming out to the classic “Monster Mash” song. The novelty song now played everywhere during the ghoulish season was originally performed by Bobby “Borris” Pickett. Released just in time for Halloween in 1962, the song shot up to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on October 20th that year.
Picket credited the song to Bobby “Borris” Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers – an appropriate name for such a song. The single was also released with a full-length LP titled The Original Monster Mash. Perhaps Pickett could see into the future because there are tons of covers available now and we’ve got ten of them for you below! Listen to renditions from The Beach Boys, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Misfits, Bobby Brown, Vincent Price and more!
