Halloween is just around the corner! If you haven’t made plans yet, that’s all right. One thing we know you’ll all be doing is jamming out to the classic “Monster Mash” song. The novelty song now played everywhere during the ghoulish season was originally performed by Bobby “Borris” Pickett. Released just in time for Halloween in 1962, the song shot up to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on October 20th that year.
Picket credited the song to Bobby “Borris” Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers – an appropriate name for such a song. The single was also released with a full-length LP titled The Original Monster Mash. Perhaps Pickett could see into the future because there are tons of covers available now and we’ve got ten of them for you below! Listen to renditions from The Beach Boys, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Misfits, Bobby Brown, Vincent Price and more!
