Grammy nominated dance punk artist, LCD Soundsystem, returns with another video for the track, “Pow Pow,” and it stars none other than Academy Award nominated actress Anna Kendrick from Up in the Air (or the Twilight series for you kids).
Created by seminal cinema and pop culture magazine MEAN (Music. Entertainment. Art. News.), it kicks off a series titled “Supervideo” which gives unique filmmakers the opportunity and artistic license to create a multitude of music video formats which includes everything from short form narratives to montages, animations, abstracts and more – all set to the freshest music. The first installment to the series presented by MTV, “LCD Soundsystem f/Kendrick,” is after the jump along with some more details!

There is no doubt that Cee-Lo Green‘s “Fuck You” (which was hilariously changed to “Forget You” for radio edit) is one of catchiest songs of 2010. Ironically written by the saccharine-sweet pop singer, Bruno Mars, for the rapper and singer of Gnarls Barkley and Goodie Mob, the song with profanity, attitude, doo wop sunshine and some great vocals was a viral hit even before it was released as a single.
However, at some point, all great songs will be covered by some inadequate musician who thinks their spin on the song is just as great if not better. This is what actor, William Shatner, thought when he performed on George Lopez Tonight just last night. Because he couldn’t say the word on television, he sang it. (It doesn’t work that way either. The word still gets beeped out.) Watch it below if you dare…

Last week, some Ryan Adams fans may have gotten extremely excited to hear that the singer-songwriter was added to 826LA‘s benefit last night. After being absent from the stage for nearly a year and half, some loyal fans in Los Angeles may have jumped at anything to see this performance. However, because it was for a benefit, the tickets were a bit pricey – up to $250!
For those of you who were able to help the organization out and buy a ticket, we give you a good firm pat on the back. However, if you were like many others who just didn’t have the cash for the bash, we’ve got a little treat for you after the jump!

As we shared last night, along with hundreds of others who were there to personally witness it live, Phoenix surprised their fans during their encore by bringing out electronic duo, Daft Punk out on to stage. The crowd went wild, text messages were sent and Twitter was blowing up with the news.
Those of you who were lucky enough to be there last night were either elated or underwhelmed. To each his/her own but if we were there, we would have definitely have been as excited because Daft Punk hasn’t performed live since their Alive tour back in 2007. Also, because we love our readers we were able to find some footage from last night so you can either relive it all again or experience a snippet of it for the first time. Check it out below!

Gorillaz are currently over on the east coast playing a couple of massive shows this weekend but last night they had offered a pretty spectacular opportunity for those who attended Late Show with Letterman. After their late night TV appearance, the band actually stayed at the Ed Sullivan Theater to put on a 45-minute show.
That audience couldn’t have picked a better episode to be at for a live taping. Not only is the entire performance available to watch via CBS but De La Soul came out during this set of theirs! De La Soul and Gorillaz live when you only paid to see one Letterman episode live? That’s a bonus, If I say so myself. However, those of us who weren’t even there are the lucky ones. The show is available in the video below. Thank God for technology. Stream away!

Kanye West may have softened up a tad (keyword: tad) after he bruised his own ego with the whole Taylor Swift-VMAs nonsense, but he’s still got that confident swagger only he can pull off. After playing nice with SNL again, he returned to the stage to perform two of his latest singles, “Power” and “Runaway.”
Extravagance and West are like a couple who are always committing too much PDA (just follow his tweets for Pete’s sake), so we knew the rapper was going to have something up his sleeve for the late Saturday slot. However, the tasteful art – which is what he meticulously turned his performances into – were shockingly beautiful. If you haven’t gotten a chance to see the two powerful SNL performances yet, check them out below!

Justin Timberlake was at the top of the game when he branched out into a solo career. Shaving that curly hair may have had something to do with it, but his talent and sex appeal really shined on his two highly successful albums, Justified and FutureSex/LoveSounds. However the latter was released four years ago and Timberlake hasn’t even hinted at any more solo material coming our way.
Instead, he’s been spending his time out of the spotlight by mentoring Dutch YouTube sensation, EsmeĆ© Denters, and appearing on numerous collaborations. By now, most people also know that the acting bug has bitten him hard and it’s where his focus is now. Props to the pop star for branching out yet again, but it seems like all that musical talent is going to waste. So what did he do on Jimmy Fallon last night that has gotten his fans all in a tizzy? He sang. He danced. It’s just that none of the material was his.

We’re sorry we didn’t share this with you sooner because it’s brilliant. We’re talking about the performance by Superchunk that happened on Monday and aired later on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. In support of their latest album, Majesty Shredding, (their first new album in seven years) the DIY band stopped by for their first late night TV performance in 16 years.
Although members, Laura Ballance and Mac McCaughan, have been busy with building the empire that is now Merge Records, the band shows no sign of slowing down. Check the video out below!

It seems just like yesterday when we were basking in the nostalgic glory of Soundgarden at Lollapalooza. Putting on one of the best closing sets we’ve seen all festival season (even sounding better than Arcade Fire at the other end of Lolla), fans of Chris Cornell and his band got to take in a performance they knew they might never get to see again… or at least for a while. There’s talk about a reunion tour but the hard facts and evidence indicating that it’s actually going to be happening any time soon just aren’t here yet. If you’re curious as much as we are, you might also be wondering where the tour dates are. Announce them already, guys!
However, we did get a new single – “Black Rain” – a track off of their forthcoming greatest hits album, Telephantism, and now we also have a music video to go along with it. Check the video – their first in ten years – out below!
