Though any band can tepidly mix rap, rock, reggae, ska and funk into an inoffensive and radio-friendly extant of ‘90s alt-pop, there is only one 311. And, as any 311 fan knows, March 11 (cause it’s 3/11, get it?) marks ‘311 Day.’ So to all the fans, Happy 311 Day!
Beginning on March 11, 2000, when the Omaha, Nebraska band laid down a 46-song set at a New Orleans concert, fans have used the numerical coincidence to celebrate the band and make tribute to its music. Further, 311 themselves pitch in on the self love, throwing a massive concert every other year on 3/11 to party with the fans.

Any 311 fans out there? Well you are in luck because the 5th 311 Day is coming up. 311 Day is a special concert 311 does for their fans on March 11th. Instead of playing a normal length set, they play for a whopping 5 hours and include rare songs and audience suggestions.
This year’s 311 Day will be held at in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Mandalay Bay. The entire concert will be streamed live and in HD through the 311 Day website. If you pre-order for the event, you can watch it both live and on-demand a second time within 30 days. The pre-order costs $11.99 which isn’t too bad.

We got some news for all you rambunctious 311 fans out there. In honor of their new album which comes out tomorrow, they will be performing at a secret show, Tonight (June 1st) in Pomona, California at the Fox Theater. Tickets are still available on Ticketmaster, but I would buy them soon.

311 has just released their new music video for their single “Hey You” this morning on Yahoo! Music. This just gets me even more excited for 311′s upcoming album Uplifter, out June 2. This is the band’s ninth studio album since debuting in the early 1993 with Music.
“Hey You” is the opening track to the new album, which was produced by Bob Rock. The song is 311′s ode to music, and it boasts some of the band’s trademark vocal melodies (delivered by Nick Hexum and SA Martinez) set to a powerful, groove-laced rhythm (Courtesy of guitarist Tim Mahoney, bassist P-Nut, and drummer Chad Sexton).
