Adele’s simply inescapable tune “Rolling in the Deep” has now become the biggest and best-selling digital song of all time by a woman in the U.S. and, moreover, has become the second bigget-selling digital song of all time. Not too shabby for a 23 year old soul and pop singer.

It’s that time again, gang—Thanksgiving weekend is upon us. With the beginning of the holiday season comes a time to begin making a list of the things we are all thankful for, and we here at Beatcrave have made our own special list. A catalogue of the five musical moments that pleased us the most in 2012, our list contains such news items as a major pop band’s hiatus (thank God it finally happened), a rock ‘n roll idol ending months of rumors that he may be retiring by announcing a new tour, the announcement that someone was a “Douchebag,” a surprise baby-daddy announcement, and more. In a direct contract to the classic rock n’ roll acts that have headlined the Super Bowl halftime show since Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson went boob crazy back in 2004, the Black Eyed Peas took center stage Sunday night for the Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show with a performance that provided some sparks, but was mostly underwhelming.

Who knew Intel was after the Fergie crowd?

Because he was sent here from above to do the Lord’s good work, master of funk George Clinton is suing the hell out of the Black Eyed Peas (along with UMG Recordings and Cherry Hill Music) for copyright infringement. According to Billboard, the lawsuit contends that the Peas used Clinton’s song “(Not Just) Knee Deep” in a remix of the Peas track “Shut Up” in 2003.

Whereas last year’s Super Bowl halftime show was all about classic rock by way of a solid performance from The Who, this year should feature quite a bit more booty shakin’ grooves courtesy of the The Black Eyed Peas, who were announced as the featured performer for the Super Bowl XLV halftime show.
The Grammy award-winning group will perform Feb. 6 at Cowboys Stadium. The announcement was made Thursday during the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the New Orleans Saints.
