What do you get when you mix Dance/Trance music full of electronic synthesizers with Rock and Hardcore music? Breathe Carolina. Citing their influences as Taking Back Sunday, UnderOath, Panic at the Disco, and Lil’ Wayne, this duo is far from ordinary. Their pop-y music, sung by David Schmitt and laced with screaming harmonization by Kyle Even makes their songs unique and one-of-a-kind. As their current album is titled, “It’s Classy, Not Classic”, further exemplified by the fact that this album was written and produced in their own home studio.
The band’s name is derived from a dream one of the members had, in which he tells a woman named Carolina comforting words to calm her down. Now signed to Fearless Records, the band only has good things to look forward to: a summer at Warped Tour, and a new album titled “Hello Fascination“, set to be released August 18th, 2009.
Check out Breathe Carolina below in our BeatCrave Fav series, and if you like them as much as we do, vote for them in Friday’s poll!

Wednesday, November 26th, gave me the opportunity to see what it was like to watch up-and-coming bands worthy of playing sold out shows in large arenas play at a small venue like the Troubadour. As someone who is very into mainstream music, it’s always a challenge to want to go to a show when you don’t know the artist very well. How do you know if the artist is good or not?
For Pierce the Veil, Breathe Carolina, Four Letter Lie, Emarosa, and In Fear and Faith, that was no problem. The lines leading to the entrance of the Troubadour were long and extended around the corner. Doors opened a little after 6PM, and the show started around 6:30. In Fear and Faith was up first, followed by Emarosa, then Four Letter Lie. Breathe Carolina and Pierce the Veil closed up the show. Check out the photos after the jump.
