It was just last year Beatcrave was on the scene at the Roxy to catch the first Los Angeles performance by a young UK singer, Ellie Goulding. Since then Goulding’s buzz has continued to soar with numerous awards in the UK and a recent slot at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. With all the buzz her fans in Los Angeles were eagerly awaiting her return on Wednesday at The Music Box Theatre. There was so much anticipation that this sold out show already had a line forming around the building by noon.

As we’ve told you in our previous giveaway, electro-folk pop star Ellie Goulding was getting ready to make a great first impression with her first show in Los Angeles let alone in the US. She went beyond these expectations on Tuesday night when she played to a packed house at The Roxy by proving that only talent can transform a shy acoustic singer-songwriter into a dazzling electro pop star. Although her voice may have started out small, her songs victoriously boomed with vitality and style.

UPDATE: This contest is now closed.
We discovered British singer-songwriter, Ellie Goulding, in 2009 and even named her one of the top artists to watch out for in 2010. She was also one our previous BeatCrave Favs. Not only were we right about her talent, but music fiends all around the world have been charmed by her new electro-folk acoustic pop sound. She’s opened up for acts such as Little Boots and Passion Pit and released an album in the UK with help from great producers such as Starsmith and Frankmusik.
Now, fans in the US can rejoice because Ms. Goulding is finally coming overseas to give us a little preview of her 2011 tour. In support of her appropriately titled and brand new EP, “An Introduction To Ellie Goulding,” she’s teasing the States with two performances – one in Los Angeles on September 28 and one in NYC on September 30. Although these dates are a bit exclusive, we’ve got a pair of tickets to the Los Angeles show at The Roxy! Find out how to win tickets after the jump!

Folk-tronica pop star, Ellie Goulding, has released her second official single and video, “Starry Eyed.” This video continues the theme of her love for stardust and out of focus movement. Two back up dancers/acrobats in blue create a blur behind her while Goulding provides some awkward dance with her hands. We still hold on strong to our belief in regards to 2010 though.
“Under the Sheets” and “Starry Eyed” will appear on her upcoming debut album titled Lights. She is currently working with producer, Starsmith, for a March 1st release via Polydor. Watch the video below!

Ellie Goulding is quickly gaining popularity over in the UK and over her in the US blogosphere. Of course, it’s no surprise to us since she was one of our BeatCrave Favs a few weeks ago. So we’re also excited to hear more from the new pop artist.
She’s opened up for Little Boots with her acoustic turned electro sounds, and just like Little Boots she seems to like her glitter. Despite the title, her new video for “Under the Sheets” isn’t nearly risque as it could be, but it’s one of those videos that proves dance parties can be a solitaire activity. Kind of.
See what we mean by checking the video out below!

Ellie Goulding appeared as a blogger-favorite as early as February 2009. She’s an acoustic songstress with a cool twist of electronica that has been referred to as ‘the next big thing’. With female influences that range from talented singer-songwriters like Regina Spektor and Ani DiFranco to electronica favorites like Imogen Heap, Ms. Goulding is proving herself a worthy candidate of the whole “female indie/electro-pop singer-songwriter world.”
Based in London, the 21-year-old singer has only released a few tracks, but recently signed with major-label Polydor Records, so it’s safe to say that a full-length record is in the works. Goulding has also befriended a few successful electro producers such as Starsmith and Frankmusik, who have added a sexy spunk to her music-making. Ellie is the perfect fit, she’s not to soft or too hard or too electro or dance, she’s just down-right amazing and if you haven’t heard some of her tracks, do so because you just might be missing out on the next big thing.
Check Ellie Goulding in our BeatCrave Fav series below . . .
