Big news for fans of Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band—the Boss and company have announced that they will be performing at this year’s 54th Annual Grammy Awards, which, by my calculations, makes this the first time in 54 years that the Grammys will actually be worth watching.

For the first time in seven years, the Grammy Awards show will have an official host. That host is none other than rapper LL Cool J, who has hosted the live Grammy nominations concert show each year since 2008. Well, now, he’s taking on the big show.

Lady Gaga took home 3 awards at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles Sunday night, including Best Pop Vocal Album for The Fame Monster. She bested Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle, John Mayer and Katy Perry for the award.
Gaga also performed “Born this Way,” the first single and title track from her upcoming album, early on in the show. It was a relatively tame performance, by Lady Gaga standards, save for the giant egg thing and that funny hat she wore during the song.

Last night the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards took place and they made history with both Taylor Swift and Beyonce taking home multiple trophies and breaking a few records. Swift took home four awards out of eight nominations for her album “Fearless” including album of the year. She’s the first solo female country performer to earn the top honor, as well as the first female pop winner since Celine Dion in 1997. See who else took home an award last night…

The Grammys are just around the corner! The 52nd annual award show will take place in Los Angeles, CA and air on CBS this Sunday and as always, the event will try to out-do the previous year’s extravaganza. If you haven’t heard yet, there will be a special Michael Jackson tribute in 3-D where select stars will be singing along with a mini-film Jackson had made prior to his death.

Now that we’ve got the Coachella lineup (and we find out Bonnaroo‘s initial lineup tomorrow!), the rumors have subsided a tad, but there are still a few recently uncovered items worth looking at:
- Scotland’s annual Hydro Connect Festival, held in the grounds of Argyll’s Inveraray Castle for the past two years, has been canceled for 2009 due to difficulties with cost and the “credit crunch.” However, festival organizers have confirmed that the festival, which has been graced by past headliners like Franz Ferdinand and Glasvegas, will return in 2010. For all the UK fest-goers, this is a serious downer, but there’s always T in the Park (Kings of Leon headlining this year!). Past Connect fans do have a glimmer of hope however: Festival organizers that Connect will put on several small scale events in place of the festival this year.
- If you didn’t catch Robert Plant and Alison Krauss at their amazing Bonnaroo show, or their mind-blowing Austin City Limits set, or any of their star-studded tour dates this past year, the ultimate chance is fast approaching. The duo, along with “Raising Sand” producer T Bone Burnett, will perform at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony and telecast in Los Angeles on Feb. 8.

The 2009 Grammy Awards will count on a performance from Radiohead, nominated for five awards, including best album. Thom Yorke is already advertising for the Grammys, and now Pitchfork reports that the band is also going to perform at the event, scheduled for February 8th in Los Angeles.
Performers Coldplay, Lil Wayne, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, the Jonas Brothers, and Katy Perry are also scheduled to be onstage. With the addition of Radiohead, The Recording Academy is definitely making a great effort to turn things around after last year’s dismal TV audiences. Continue Reading
