Modest Mouse have announced a tour of North America this August and September with dates in both Canada and America. The new tour is in support of its May release, Satellite Skin, a limited-edition 7″ single, and two newly announced 7″ singles “Autumn Beds,” and “Whale Song,” both of which contain previously unreleased material.
“Autumn Beds” and “Whale Song” will be available June 23. “Satellite Skin,” plus another new track, “Guilty Cocker Spaniels,” both are currently streaming at the group’s MySpace page.

Last week it was revealed that Heath Ledger directed a music video for the unreleased track “King Rat” by Modest Mouse and Grace Woodroofe’s, which is a cover of David Bowie’s “Quicksand.” Everyone jumped on the information so fast that they missed out on some of the details. It was thought that Terry Gilliam, the Director or Ledger’s upcoming film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus had animated the video, but it is now being discovered that, director and illustrator Daniel Auber animated the video, not Gilliam. Auber was a member of Ledger’s art collective The Massive and worked with Ledger on the video.

I caught Stacy* Clark’s set at The Knitting Factory last week and was so blown away by her performance that I demanded an interview. Clark, a guitar playing singer songwriter, and her band performed a powerful set of guitar-heavy songs and heartfelt melodies from her album, Apples & Oranges. Clark is the Winner of the 2007 Orange County Music Awards for ‘Best Female Performer’ and ‘Best Female Artist’ 2006 Southern California Music Awards. Her music has appeared on the MTV and CBS television networks, and she has appeared on stage with Jacks Mannequin, and the Amsterdams. Thankfully, she took time out to answer a few questions.
