We can’t believe that Sunday has already past us by and what an amazing day of music it was at the Outside Lands Music Festival. As with any music festival you never know what surprises a set could have instore and we have to say that Mavis Staples may have had the most shocking set and guests of the day.
The Outside Lands Music festival is already upon us (a little bit earlier than last year) and we are enjoying the beautiful sunny overcast San Francisco climate for a few days to catch some amazing music, fill our stomachs with some delicious grub, and possibly partake in a game of (free) air hockey at the Barcade. Oh yeah, this year’s installment of Golden Gate Park’s finest, has super sized itself back to a 3 day affair. And 3 days still might not give the proper time to partake in everything to do at Golden Gate Park.
Lollapalooza may have been just last weekend but that doesn’t mean the summer festivals take a break! Neither do we because we’ll be covering San Francisco’s Outside Lands Must & Arts Festival all weekend. Unlike Chicago, Golden Gate Park will be a bit chillier and it will also only be two days starting today, Saturday, August 14th.
Once again, we’ll be giving you a glimpse into our experience at Outside Lands through our live review and photo galleries. So make sure to check back in all weekend. Here’s what we’re excited about this weekend:
YouTube has found another way to interact with the masses via their website. They have teamed up with the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival for this year’s event. So while all of you lucky, employed people take off this weekend for the Coachella Music and Arts Festival (geez, not that I’m bitter or anything, no, just have a greattime… really enjoy it…bring me back an f-ing t-shirt…can I make your head explode with my passive aggressive mind power?), the rest of us can take solace in the fact that we can sit in front of our computer and purchase tickets to these wonderful shows this weekend.

You may ask, why are these dates so important? Because that’s the weekend that the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival returns to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park for its second glorious year! No, Radiohead will not give an encore performance, but a worthy trio, Pearl Jam, the Beastie Boys and Dave Matthews, will take the helm this year.
