George Harrison‘s older sister, Louise Harrison, has decided at the ripe old age of 80 that she would like to clear up some of the rumors about The Beatles by releasing a tell-all memoir. The book is slated to be released in either 2012 or 2013, and will include previously unpublished photographs of George and letters he wrote to Louise. It’s only fitting: she manages a Beatles tribute production called Liverpool Legends in her hometown of Branson, Missouri.

We’ll never know what might have happened – or more specifically what music we might have heard – had The Beatles not disbanded. And for that great rock n’ roll mystery we can thank John Lennon. In a conversation with radio host Geoff Lloyd on Absolute Radio this week, Paul McCartney revealed that it was Lennon who demanded that The Beatles end for good.
The Beatles eventually called it a career in 1970 following the recording of Let It Be. The famous foursome played their final concert on the rooftop of the Apple Records headquarters in London on Jan. 30, 1969.

The British Library is putting a digital spin on its historic collection of documents by launching the Treasures app for smart-phones.
Launched this week for Apple and Android devices, the app provides a digital tour of 100 literary, scientific, musical and historical documents in the British Library’s collection. And right there between original scores by Mozart and an original copy of Beowulf are The Beatles.

Apple has – finally! – reached an agreement to sell Beatles albums on iTunes, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Apple on Monday posted a message on the iTunes homepage that it would make “an exciting announcement” Tuesday morning.
Well, Tuesday morning is here and the Cupertino, Calif. boys did not disappoint; a deal for legal downloading of the Fab Four’s catalog of 200-plus songs recorded from 1962-1970 is finally realized.
Most of the 13 original studio albums in the deal run $12.99, and individual tracks are available for $1.29 each.
