Look at the face in the picture above, gang—that’s the picture of sobriety, according Steven Tyler, the owner of said bruised and battered mug. The 63 year old American Idol host and Aerosmith frontman apparently took a tumble in the shower in Asuncion, Paraguay on Tuesday—but Tyler swears that it has nothing to do with his long battle with substance abuse, and that he has not fallen off the wagon.

Well, there you have it. That wise prophet Randy Jackson was right. Scotty was, in fact, “in it to win it,” and he is now your American Idol. This is surprising to exactly nobody, unless you haven’t been watching all season or you are a crazy person. I know I said that Lauren might have had a chance yesterday, but realistically, everybody knew it was going to be Scotty for the past few weeks now. So yay! America chose the bizarre lanky deep-voiced teenage hearthrob from North Carolina to focus on for a few months. However, despite the winner being pretty predictable, it was actually a decent finale.

This is it, everybody. The final chance for the two finalists to put on their best puppy-dog faces and plead for our votes. For their final performances Scotty and Lauren had to sing their favorite song from a previous performance, a song by their own idols, and what will be their first single if they win. Both contestants did well, and Jennifer wore a dress that looked like it was stolen from Charo’s closet.
