All you Andrew Bird fans are in luck! He has officially confirmed that his new studio album Noble Beast will now be released January 20, 2009 on Fat Possum Records. Noble Beast will also be available in a very limited deluxe 2-CD edition that will also include Useless Creatures, a bonus disc of original instrumental works featuring collaborations with Glenn Kotche and Todd Sickafoose. The deluxe edition, which will be available exclusively to physical retailers, will feature a stunning custom package including extra photos, a fold-out poster, and a 24-page lyric booklet illustrated by Diana Sudyka.

Eclectic singer-songwriter Andrew Bird has announced a run of early 2009 tour dates to support his upcoming album Noble Beast. The album will be released on January 27, the day before the tour kicks off at the illustrious Carnegie Hall in New York. The tour crisscross the country and wrap up Omaha, NE at Slowdown on February 27. Lonely Dear will open all of the shows except Carnegie Hall.

Andrew Bird is set to release a new solo album, Noble Beast, on January 26th of next year. The album is a follow up to last years Armchair Apocrypha, will contain ten songs, and is expected to be released alongside an all-instrumental album.
If you happen to live in the London area you can catch a preview of the album on November 20th at St. Giles Church. Tickets for the event are priced just under 16 pounds and can be purchased online or by calling 08444 772000.

Guster has officially signed on to play 5 acoustic songs at a fundraiser for Barack Obama at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn NY on October 7th. Also on the bill are Les Savy Fav, Andrew Bird, Aline Simone, Martin Bisi, The Fiery Furnaces, and another super secret band they’re refusing to mention. The show will be held Tuesday October 7th in Brooklyn, N. And just to sweeten the deal, they’ve added a number of great comedians to the bill as well (more info below).
