Spike Jonze will be releasing the soundtrack to his critically acclaimed short film titled I’m Here. The film about love between two robots co-existing alongside humanity in Los Angeles debuted during Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and it’s only now that Jonze will be releasing the soundtrack.
Jonze recruited Flea of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Aska Matsumiya to compose original music for the film, and together, all three artists are listed as The Lost Trees. The soundtrack also boasts a nice indie touch to it with bands such as Animal Collective, Sleigh Bells, Girls and more. Check the tracklist out below!

Animal Collective‘s film with Danny Perez has been one of the most anticipated abstract works of art and the film, ODDSAC, is being revealed tonight at the Sundance Film Festival. It shouldn’t surprise you to find out that the the band is paired up with the term “abstract” again if you’ve seen their videos for “In The Flowers” and “Brothersport.” Their music lends itself perfectly to visuals that knock you out of a sober state.
The film, itself, “cohesively doesn’t have one narrative; it’s more of a visual or psychedelic thing,” according to band member, Avey Tare. “There are parts that are almost completely abstract, and there are parts that are little bit more live-action.” If you can’t wait to see it at select (very select) theaters in March, check the nearly 30-second clip trailer below!

If you thought the last Animal Collective video was trippy, just wait until you see this one for their track “Brothersport.” What starts out as two kids playing on a farm turns into an incredibly hallucinogenic plunge into crazy cartoon animals, neon colors and little monsters. Then when a black light is used to capture painted eggs falling from the sky, you realize the video’s not even half way through yet.
Animal Collective doesn’t mess around. If they’re going to make you watch something for more than six minutes, they make sure it’s worth it and completely appropriate for the tone of the song. Take a look after the jump!

Animal Collective just released their music video for “In The Flowers,” a track off of their latest album, Merriweather Post Pavilion. Directed by Avey Tare’s sister, Abigail Portner, the video is one trippy swirl of creepy marionettes, artsy contemporary dancers, cracked-out (but cool) drawings and shots of Chinatown.
It’s an interesting watch to say the least, and it’ll have to hold us over until their Fall Be Kind EP is released on December 8th via Domino Records. Check it out below!

As if we couldn’t get enough Phoenix as it is, we are now excited to share some great news about them!
After Animal Collective did a wicked cover of their song, “Love Like A Sunset,” Phoenix is really getting into the idea with an entire album! That’s right. There will be an entire collection of songs in the same vein of the Animal Collective cover, and the album to be covered is none other than their latest album, (the one probably still in your 25 most played songs on iTunes), Wolfgang Amedeus Phoenix!
