Good news for fans of all things Radiohead: in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke announced that two albums are coming down the pipe—a new disc from Yorke’s side project, Atoms for Peace, as well as a new Radiohead album, despite the fact that the band just released The King Limbs earlier this year.

Thom Yorke’s supergroup side-project – Atoms For Peace – played their first of two, sold-out shows Monday night at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom. The band, which features Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, producer Nigel Godrich, Beck drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco, opened the night by playing Yorke’s 2006 debut album The Eraser in its entirety, which must have been a thrill for those in attendance.

Thom Yorke took the liberty of debuting three new songs while he was playing in Cambridge, England last night. Playing as part of a benefit show for Green Party member, Tony Juniper, the frontman of Radiohead and now new solo band, Atoms For Peace, gave a sneak peek of what may just become recordings later on? (There are rumors of Yorke going into the studio for Atoms For Peace.) These are indeed three new songs since the last time Yorke and his band played the surprise show in Los Angeles a few months ago.

Remember when we all saw the Coachella 2010 lineup and wondered why in the world Thom Yorke‘s name was followed by four question marks? We had assumed that was how his new solo band was going to be billed from now on. Well, it looks like the super group backing band for Yorke (with producer Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker, multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco, and bassist Flea), finally has an official and sensible name.
