As soon as James Cameron revealed the details for his film, Avatar, it wasn’t hard to predict how well it would do in the box office. With a major feature film always comes a powerhouse ballad, and this holiday season has become 1997 all over again.
Avatar is Cameron’a first feature film since Titanic, and he has asked composer James Horner to score the film. Horner was the genius behind powerhouse ballad, “My Heart Will Go On,” which was sung by pop star Celine Dion. For Avatar‘s theme song, “I See You,” X-factor winner and pop songstress, Leona Lewis has been chosen to fill the very huge shoes for the current decade.

Do you consider the Pixies to be one of your favorite bands? Do you especially adore the musicianship of members, David Lovering and Joey Santiago? Then we’ve got great news for you. Your dream of collaborating with some of your favorite musicians is within reach.
Lovering and Santiago of the Pixies recently teamed up under the moniker, The Everybody, and put out an album titled Avatar. (Perfect timing, right?) They are offering it in three different formats: Mp3, Expanded Lossless, and Deluxe Edition. That may be exciting for your convenience but that’s not even the cool part! There is no doubt that Avatar is one of the most exciting movies to come out this year. The trailers and the short commercials on TV create a sense of a dreamworld through extravagant special effects and mad art concepts. Although it doesn’t premier worldwide until tomorrow on December 16 and in the US on December 18, we’re banking on it living up to its expectations. The fact that James Cameron has made the most expensive movie in existence should be enough justification.
What’s interesting about the beautiful visions the film provides is the fact that it looks eerily similar to some album artwork that has surfaced from the past. If you’re a fan of bands such as Yes and Asia, you probably already know what we’re talking about.

British songstress Leona Lewis will soon find herself following in the footsteps of award winning artist, Celine Dion. Dion gained massive success after she performed the theme song to the epic, romantic drama Titanic back in 1997. According to BBC, the same fortune may be in the future for Lewis, because she’s been tapped to perform the theme to James Cameron‘s latest film, Avatar.
