Another day, another example of what an insufferable egoist Axl Rose can be. The legendarily contentious frontman of Guns N’ Roses (as well as the modern Guns N’ Roses, which is basically GNR in name only) publicly declared today that he is refusing to attend the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Guns N’ Roses due to the fact that he simply cannot get along with his former bandmates.

No stranger to litigious slapfights—see this and that—Axl Rose is kicking off the Thanksgiving holiday by suing the sweet stuffing out of Activision for a cool $20 million. Why? Because Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock features both GNR’s classic “Welcome to the Jungle” side by side with several tracks by former GNR guitarist Slash’s band, Velvet Revolver.

Oh, God help us all—it seems that Axl Rose, formerly of Guns N’ Roses and who now fronts the world’s most prominent Guns N’ Roses cover band, has been in the studio with his bandmates, “throwing around a bunch of ideas,” according to GNR guitarist DJ Ashba. Translation: A new GNR album is in the words, one which, apparently, will drop before 2099.

Axl Rose just can’t catch a break. The outspoken, egocentric rock singer had a horrible experience at his latest concert in Dublin. According to AP, Rose did the unthinkable when he showed up to the venue almost an hour late. And guess what? The Irish didn’t take his disrespect and carelessness lying down.

As you may recall, Irving Azoff and Front Line Management launched a lawsuit earlier this against Axl Rose, alleging that “Rose broke an oral agreement for Front Line to receive 5% the singer’s commissions, which are ‘due on more than $12 million in earnings’ that he earned from performances overseas.” Which is pretty funny on two counts: 1) That a major corporation actually believed that a man who surgically altered his face to resemble stretched Silly Putty could be held accountable for anything he says; and 2) Axl Rose made $12 million last year? Man, that’s wild.
Accordingly, Rose amped up this legal slapfight to a $5 million countersuit according to Spin, noting that Azoff conspired to reunite the original Guns N’ Roses lineup, in addition to really, really hurting Axl’s feelings. No, seriously.

Axl Rose, frontman for both Guns N’ Roses and the essentially-just-a-tribute-band group that currently tours under that name, has apparently—gasp!—burned a bridge in the music industry. AP reports that Irving Azoff’s Front Line Management sued the waxy-faced (seriously, what is that? Botox?) singer on Thursday for approximately $1.9 million in “unpaid commissions” and fees.
The management company contends that Rose broke an oral agreement for Front Line to receive 5% the singer’s commissions, which are “due on more than $12 million in earnings” that he earned from performances overseas.
