After the much talked about Kanye West-Taylor Swift incident at the MTV Video Music Awards, it seems like everyone has been weighing in with their opinion. One of the most surprising and most candid responses came from the President himself. According to the Associated Press, the recently released audio and Twitter feed of President Obama brings up more controversy amongst journalistic standards than West’s recent outburst.

Barack Obama’s aide has reported that the president gave the Queen of England an iPod, containing video and photos of her 2007 trip to Virginia and Washington, DC, in 2007, as well as some Broadway show tunes and accessories.
When Prime Minister Gordon Brown visited the White House last month, he gave Obama a pen holder carved from the timber of an anti-slave ship. Obama returned the gesture by offering a DVD box set of American movies, which didn’t work on European players. The British press had a fit, as you can imagine.

The We Are One concert at the Lincoln Memorial pulled crowds with big names performing for the celebration of the inauguration of Barack Obama. Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Herbie Hancock, Sheryl Crow, Stevie Wonder, Bono and Garth Brooks took to the stage to sing classics like “This Land Is Your Land”, and “America the Beautiful”.
The Obamas held the seats of honor as the diverse lineup of talent played for the throng of people gathered. Historical passages were read by Queen Latifah and Denzel Washington, and Steve Carell and Jamie Foxx also got onstage for comic relief. Foxx even did an impersonation of Barack’s monotone, staccato voice, which the future president heartily enjoyed.

Peter Frampton is angry that all of the kids are stealing the signs off of his lawn. Frampton, 70s legend of the “talking guitar,” which was cool for a while back then, is mad that someone keeps stealing the Obama signs off his lawn, so mad that he called his local paper, the Cincinatti Enquirer, to offer an interview about the incidents. He says in the interview that he is mad because he became an American citizen to vote but his rights are now being violated.

Jimmy Buffett has now endorsed Barack Obama, planning a rally and concert on Sunday in Tampa. The concert will of course take place in an outdoor ampitheater, where Buffett will sing to his legions of fans, most of whom will no doubt be wasted.
I used to get Jimmy and Warren Buffett mixed up. Now they’re both supporting Obama in this election, which will hopefully lead to more mix-ups in the future, if it hasn’t already, especially during the debate when Obama was talking about Warren Buffett, possibly confusing some people who thought Warren Buffett was the king of middle-aged parties who built himself a hugely lucrative business with his own restaurants and tequila (surprisingly good for its price!) despite not having a great deal of musical talent. That is definitely a man whose opinion should be respected when it comes to choosing the president, not some rich Wall Street guy who doesn’t know what it’s like on Main Street for Joes Six-Pack and Plumber.
