Love or hate these bands, as Pitchfork rightly reports, “indie rock tours in 2010 don’t come much bigger than this,” and it’s hard to argue with them: a North American headlining trek for Vampire Weekend, with support from Beach House and the Dum Dum Girls, is a savvy rock promoter’s dream, lacing together as it does VW’s collegiate and Caucasoid pseudo world-rock, Beach House’s glacial and gorgeous pop, and the roughed-up girl-group garage pop of the Dum Dum Girls. If you own a pair of skinny jeans, or think that you don’t look like an ass in that fedora, this tour’s for you.

According to some fans, day three of the SXSW music conference was referred to as ‘Metallica Day’ – and yes, the metal legends did take the stage at Stubb’s BBQ for a 90-minute greatest hits set to help sell their new game ‘Guitar Hero: Metallica.’

The B-side is a four track demo version of “Apple Orchard” from their S/T album. The B-side was the first existing composition from both Alex and Victoria. The exclusive seven inch is set to be released on October 21st, 2008. Listen to it here.
