In the aftermath of last week’s big deal that finally delivered the Beatles to iTunes, a whopping 450,000 albums and 2 million individual songs were sold on Apple’s digital store worldwide, according to Apple.

Among the catalog of 13 Beatles studio albums released last week, the best-selling album was Abbey Road and best-selling song was “Here Comes the Sun.” Sadly, “Here Comes the Sun” failed to finish the week in the top ten.

Apple on Monday posted a message on the iTunes homepage that it would make “an exciting announcement” Tuesday morning.

Well, Tuesday morning isn’t here yet, but already speculation is that Apple will announce that it would soon start carrying the Beatles’ music catalog.

An agreement for legal downloading of the group’s catalog of music from 1962-1970 is about to be announced by Steve Jobs’ Apple Inc., the Beatles’ Apple Corps and EMI/Capitol Records, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Not long ago we sat down to talk to Aaron Johnson the actor who plays the young John Lennon in director Sam Taylor-Wood’s upcoming film Nowhere Boy about the life of the Lennon when he was just some kind strumming a guitar with a whole lot of issues. One of the biggest challenges Johnson faced was having to actually sing and perform songs from the band live in front of an audience. Those are some big shoes to fill!

Rolling Stone Magazine has rated Beatles songs for the first time and put “A Day in the Life” at the #1 spot for best Beatles song this Wednesday. The song was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and was released in 1967 and beat out other hits such as “I Want To Hold Your Hand” and “Strawberry Fields.”

The list was compiled in honor of the Fab Four’s 40th anniversary of the twelfth and last album, Let It Be, which was released in 1970. The list which highlights the top ten Beatles songs according to them will be released in a special collector’s edition of the magazine.

Although we assume he only had good intentions for the ad (aside from making some extra cash), we’re not too happy with his rendition.

However, the end of the Beatles era may truly be turning into a reality very soon. The famous recording studio on Abbey Road is up for sale because of EMI‘s severe financial problems.

Yes, we’re talking about the famous studio in London where the Beatles recorded their last album. Yes, we’re talking about the album that made that zebra striped crosswalk famous. Most importantly, when we’re talking about Abbey Road we’re almost always talking about the Beatles! However, EMI has gotten themselves into such a rut that they may be selling the pop culture landmark to a buyer who will turn it into an apartment complex. Excuse us, flats.

At first glance, John Lennon‘s Hollywood star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame looks as if it has been stolen. LAist reports that the star mysteriously disappeared leaving only an empty outline of the star which is currently covered with a trash bag.

The Los Angeles online magazine got a tip through an e-mail and fans on the Beatlestweets site are claiming that it is “missing.” The question is… Has it been stolen or is there some type of construction in regards to the star that the public just doesn’t know about yet?
