It’s that time again, gang—Thanksgiving weekend is upon us.  With the beginning of the holiday season comes a time to begin making a list of the things we are all thankful for, and we here at Beatcrave have  made our own special list.  A catalogue of the five musical moments that pleased us the most in 2012, our list contains such news items as a major pop band’s hiatus (thank God it finally happened), a rock ‘n roll idol ending months of rumors that he may be retiring by announcing a new tour, the announcement that someone was a “Douchebag,” a surprise baby-daddy announcement, and more.  It was a weird year for music, but these five items gave us something to be thankful for.

Black Eyed Peas To Team Up With James Cameron Act Of God Thankfully Prevents Black Eyed Peas Concert

Sometimes, the universe throws something out there that just forces you to believe in a greater good.  And by “throws something out there,” I mean dropping a big-ass thunderstorm on top of Central Park last in New York to prevent an outdoor concert featuring Black Eyed Peas and Taylor Swift.

The Black Eyes Peas Deliver Big Hits But Few Thrills For Super Bowl Halftime The Black Eyed Peas Deliver Big Hits, But Few Thrills For Super Bowl Halftime

In a direct contract to the classic rock n’ roll acts that have headlined the Super Bowl halftime show since Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson went boob crazy back in 2004, the Black Eyed Peas took center stage Sunday night for the Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show with a performance that provided some sparks, but was mostly underwhelming.

Once the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers headed for the locker room after the first half, the hip-hop quartet hit the stage, or rather descended onto the stage from the top of Cowboy Stadium.

It’s a musical mash-up more shocking than Aerosmith and RUN-DMC. According to the BBC, in an effort to market their business more effectively, Intel has awarded will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas the position of “Director of Creativity.” Although details are sketchy as of now, it seems that his role will involve working with the company to reach a wider audience.

No matter what music comes through this week, we got the best and the… not so best to introduce to you:

The Grammy award-winning group will perform Feb. 6 at Cowboys Stadium. The announcement was made Thursday during the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the New Orleans Saints.

Black Eyed Peas To Team Up With James Cameron Black Eyed Peas To Team Up With James Cameron?

As if we didn’t have enough of Black Eyed Peas and their long, futursitic-obsessed expensive music videos, Will.I.Am recently told Vibe that he may be working with James Cameron. James Cameron! Please say it ain’t so! As much as we ripped on Avatar, you can’t deny that Titanic and Avatar were GREAT films we will remember forever. However, if he throws Black Eyed Peas into that mix, that is a sure sign that the world is going awry and awry is a complete understatement in this situation.
