A theory developed by Jonathan Berger, Professor of Music at Stanford University, California, says that music fans are getting used to mp3 quality on their iPods, even though producers say that the sound quality is lacking.
While older fans insist that songs heard through iPods aren’t up to standard, compared with the CDs and vinyl, but Professor Berger’s examined music tastes of his students over the past eight years and concludes:
“I found not only that MP3s were not thought of as low quality, but over time there was a rise in preference for MP3s.”

The Glastonbury Festival marks its 40th anniversary in 2010, and organizers are planning to book 40 bands from the past 40 years to play live performances at the event. Radiohead, Blur, PJ Harvey, Jeff Buckley, The Cure and Massive Attack are just a few of the thousands of artists that have graced “Glasto’s” stages.
Michael Eavis founded the event in 1970 on his dairy farm near Pilton, Somerset. His daughter Emily said they were both planning the celebration next year, and told the BBC:
“We want to have a band from every year on the Pyramid Stage.”

Studio footage of Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree recording Blur’s pivotal album Parklife in 1994 has been released online at producer Stephen Street’s web site. The footage shows the band recording songs ‘London Loves‘ and ‘Magic America‘, and at the beginning of the video Street says:
“I came across some fantastic footage of Blur, in the studio, recording what became the Parklife album. I think the thing that comes over is not only how talented these guys are, but also how much fun they were to work with.”

It looks like Pavement could be reforming for Coachella this year. Former guitarist for the band Scott Kannberg has said the band may get back together soon and “has had talks with Coachelle festival chiefs about them performing at the event.”
Kannberg also stated however that 2009 might be too early for the band to start performing together again: “2009 would be our 20-year anniversary too, so that’d be a good time to do it, but I think that’s too soon, it might have to be pushed back later….Coachella keep asking our booking agent but our booking agent’s pretty strong. He’s waiting for the right number, I think.”

Damon Albarn has confirmed that Blur will be reuniting next year. The group first hinted at the possibility earlier this month, with Albarn making an official announcement right before a solo performance of his opera “Monkey: Journey To The West” at the BBC Radio Theater in London this past Tuesday.

It looks like there is another possible reunion to add to the ever-growing list soon. British band Blur may be the next band mend old wounds and make music again.
Blur frontman Damon Albarn told the BBC “It’s very possible I’ll go back to Blur, it really is very possible.” Apparently he and guitarist Graham Coxon met for lunch recently and it went well.
