Director, Chris Weitz, has confirmed the speculation. Thom Yorke really WAS interested in being part of the soundtrack to the second part of the Twilight saga.
Once again, we find out breaking news from none other than Comic-con. According to Pitchfork, Wietz corroborated the rumors in an interview with HitFix.com which took place at the event. The New Moon director hasn’t actually listened to Yorke’s new track yet but he states, “”Unless it’s sounds of him belching, I think I’ll put it in.”

This might be a bad thing to say, but I’m kind of glad Justin Vernon got sad about a past relationship and then got really sick one winter. Okay, it IS a bad thing to say, because it’s entirely selfish. However, if that hadn’t happened, our ears would have never been graced by Vernon’s latest project,Bon Iver. Fronted by Vernon and fleshed out as a live band by Mike Noyce and Sean Carey, Bon Iver appropriately paints a gorgeous picture of snow falling down on a quiet day through heartrending melodies that effortlessly float above honest guitar chords and soulful vocals. Bon Iver is a play off of “good winter” in French, and although Vernon had to seclude himself from society, it turned out to be exactly that. During that winter, a true artist immersed himself into nature with nothing but the melodies in his head to keep himself company. Our fortuitous result is his debut, For Emma, Forever Ago.
Check out Vernon and the rest of Bon Iver in our BeatCrave Fav series below. If you are smitten with them as much as I am, remember to vote for them in Friday’s poll!
Wisconsin rising star Bon Iver will release a new EP titled Blood Bank in January. The four-song EP will be the first new music from Bon Iver since For Emma, Forever Ago was released in February.
Blood Bank will be available on CD and on 12″ vinyl on January 20 in the US and on January 19 in the UK. Fans will be able to buy the EP early at Bon Iver’s US shows in December. Check out those dates after the break.
