We brought you M.I.A.‘s track, “Born Free,” on Friday and now we’ve got the brand spanking new video to go along with it. Similarly to Lady Gaga, (which she’ll be upset about if she finds out about this comparison) the video is nearly 10 minutes long and meant to be a short film. However, very much unlike Lady Gaga, there isn’t any scandalous choreographed dance moves and Wonder Bread in M.I.A.’s video.

So, we’ve got another taste of M.I.A‘s new material which may appear on her album that drops on June 29th (according to Consequence of Sound and a very huge blimp.) Instead of watching a green tinted video of her dancing in the shadows with a new song where we think it’s her, the new track definitely sports M.I.A.’s undeniably distinctive voice.

However, “Born Free,” is not what we expected it to sound like at all… It’s her voice but it doesn’t include any of that sing-talk nonsense she does…. Take a listen below!
