Prepare to have your faith in humanity dip just a tough—and by ‘a touch’ I mean completely—as one of the most insipid pop songs of 2012 has now claimed dominion over the Number One spot of Billboard’s Hot 100 list. That’s right, Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” is now your longest-running Number One song on Billboard’s Hot 100 for 2012 (so far, anyway—we’re now looking at a world in which maybe we’ll get lucky and Bieber will release something more popular).
