Guess Who Is America’s Favorite Singer/ Musician?
Friday, May 7, 2010 4:49PM - By Travis Woods
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa—huddle up here, America. Really, we’ve got to talk about this.
Yahoo Finance reported today that a recent Harris Poll of 2,320 representative American adults was held between March 1st through the 8th of 2010. The question asked was this: who is your favorite musician/ artist, and what is your favorite song by that person/ band? And I know what you’re saying about the #1 spot—Beatles, Stones, Elvis, hell, even the Boss, right? Because this is your favorite artist of all time.
This is where the disgust kicks in.

Brace yourselves: Celine Dion will be returning to Las Vegas for a three-year stint at Caesar’s Palace, after having closed out her previous five-year Vegas run in 2007 with the $400 million grossing “A New Day.” Yeah that’s a boatload of money, but you’d be surprised by how dedicated this woman’s fanbase is. Don’t underestimate those French-Canadians.

Monday, December 28, 2009 5:39PM - By Seraphina L.![]()
As soon as James Cameron revealed the details for his film, Avatar, it wasn’t hard to predict how well it would do in the box office. With a major feature film always comes a powerhouse ballad, and this holiday season has become 1997 all over again.
Avatar is Cameron’a first feature film since Titanic, and he has asked composer James Horner to score the film. Horner was the genius behind powerhouse ballad, “My Heart Will Go On,” which was sung by pop star Celine Dion. For Avatar‘s theme song, “I See You,” X-factor winner and pop songstress, Leona Lewis has been chosen to fill the very huge shoes for the current decade.

Pollstar, the leading authority on the subject of concert news, has released monetary figures on 2008′s concert tours. Leading the way is Madonna, who brought in an astounding $105.3 million with her Sticky & Sweet tour. It seems like the older the act, the better the revenue. The only groups/musicians who began their careers in the past 20 years are country acts Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts.
