Last night’s BET Awards was filled with a ton of comeback performances which always make for a more exciting award show, even if the host is the lovely Queen Latifah. We must say even with all the unnecessary hoopla that was surrounding Justin Beiber this season, they booked some pretty great artists to show us what they got right now.
Kanye West triumphantly opened the show up with his new track, “Power,” which had him standing on top of a ridiculously tall mountain in the beginning. He’s always overcompensating for something but hey, at least, he didn’t grab any mics from teenagers onstage this time. (Although… it would have been fun to watch him make Justin Beiber and all his Beliebers cry.)

Over the past month or so, the singer has been dropping hints about his upcoming album entitled Graffiti and he’s finally announced the release date. It’s taken a while since we heard pop sensation, Rihanna, had been brutally beaten by her ex-boyfriend and music colleague, Chris Brown. Until the incident which occurred on the eve of the Grammy Awards, Chris Brown had a pretty clean slate for his image. His hits included “Run It” and “Kiss Kiss.”
One of his most recent songs, “Forever” was even paired up for Wrigley chewing gum since the lyrics included “Double your pleasure, double your fun.” However, Wrigley had been concerned with the reputation they were associated with once Brown had been arrested for suspicion. They had decided to suspend the commercial with Brown dancing to “Forever” with a packet of Wrigley gum was until everything was resolved and believed he had also deserved due legal process.

I’m speaking of the latest YouTube sensation currently zigzagging across the Internet: Jill Peterson and Kevin Heinz’s Wedding Entrance Dance.

The power of the web strikes again. Or maybe we just like to watch other people get down and get funky on the dance floor – or in this case a church aisle. The video is up to about nine minutes on the 15 minutes of fame clock, but an interesting by-product of the viral hit is what’s happening with the Chris Brown song featured in the amateur video.
Google is highlighting the fact that the singer’s “Forever” has shot up to #4 on the iTunes chart and #3 on Amazon’s MP3 store.
