Christina Aguilera may have just found a second job singing for the Lakers who won the 2010 NBA Championship last night. Not only did she sing for them at Tuesday’s game (June 15) but she was asked to sing for them again during the showdown between the LA Lakers and the Boston Celtic last night.

She’s not the overly manufactured pop princess who emerged from the late nineties or the edgy songstress who belted out “Fighter” for 2002’s Stripped. Other things happened during last night’s airing of the MTV Movie Awards besides biggest non-story of the year Sandra Bullock kissing Scarlett Johansson, namely the much steamier performance by Christina Aguilera. That’s right, Christina Aguilera!
Aguilera performed a funky/sexy medley of songs from new album, Bionic. The 29-year-old looked damn fine as she opened by rapping the opening lines of the title track while descending from a throne. She then performed the single “Not Myself Tonight” surrounded by leather-clad dancers, then closed with “Woohoo.” And there was a pulsating heart light right on her crotch.

In the interview, she stated that her albums have always started out with concepts and that producers would always state she would be a great DJ based on her diverse taste in music. The Eagles‘ Joe Walsh has also hooked up with the same people for his own station and pretty soon, Weezer will be in the mix too.

Does anyone remember the awesome dance-punk band, Le Tigre? Well you should, because the trio’s many political anthems for the feminist and LGBT community were addictive as smack. (TKO-Oh!) The nearly five-year hiatus since their last album, This Island, has caused speculation over the group’s existence. However, band member, Hanna, clarified any rumors with a blog post titled “LE TIGRE DID NOT BREAK UP.”
Now fans be certain that the band still exists because word through Perez Hilton is that all three members are currently working with Christina Aguilera! According to Pitchfork, Aguilera has been collaborating with all sorts of artists we approve of such as Goldfrapp, Ladytron, and Sia. Perhaps the talented pop star is crossing over into indie acts to separate herself from Lady Gaga as much as possible? Whatever the reason is, we’re glad she picked Le Tigre because they’re rad!
