Surprise—turns out that Courtney Love of Hole isn’t the best tenant in the world to rent a home to (gasp!). Can you believe it? Gosh, if you can’t trust her, who can you trust? Because, as it turns out, if you rent a home to Courtney Love with strict instructions that she cannot change the interiors, Love will do only one thing—set the interiors on fire and burn them down.
Do we even have to pretend to be surprised by this, or can we just skip the shock and indignation part and just go to the “yeah, this makes sense” part? We can? Good. Ok, here’s the scoop: apparently Courtney Love pulled a Lindsay Lohan and swiped about $100,000 worth of jewelry from Jacob & Co.
Oh, mother of God. Since she’s never, ever had a chance to just lay it all down on the line and tell people what’s going on in her life, Courtney Love is writing a tell-all autobiography. Awesome. Just awesome, you guys. Because if there’s one thing Courtney Love hasn’t done, it’s tell everyone who will pay attention what the hell is happening in her life via a mountainous torrent of drunken and/or stoned Tweets, rambling blog posts, rambling TV interviews, rambling radio interviews, feuds with rock stars she’s slept with or swears she slept with, lawsuits with former members of Nirvana, or generally just screaming on street corners for people to please please please just pay attention to her.
Although most don’t feel sorry for those in the Hollywood spotlight, it is a bit difficult to not have some sympathy for Frances Bean Cobain. As the daughter of Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain and Hole frontwoman, Courtney Love, the girl hasn’t had much time to get out of a media frenzy during her entire life. With her father’s tragic suicide at two years old and her mother constantly fighting lawsuits, issues were taken to another level when custody between her grandmother and mother made headlines.
Today may, however, may be the beginning of a new chapter for Cobain as she turns 18 today and inherits a good chunk of her father’s fortune from the Nirvana franchise.

Entertainment Weekly reports that funeral-makeup practice cadaver/ rock singer Courtney Love no longer has any use for her famous last name, insisting that she will now go on using her given name, Courtney Michelle Harrison.

Despite a decrease in attendance in the recession-riddled 2009, this year’s South By Southwest music and film festival in Austin, TX is being touted as a complete success – if only for the fact that it drew record numbers in 2010. According to Reuters, “a record 13,022 music industry professionals registered” to attend the fest (along with an estimated 100,000 other music fans), consume copious amounts of barbeque, and ensure that the 2010/ 2011 liver transplant registry will remain awfully busy.
After Gus Van Sant’s fictionalized account within Last Days, and Nick Broomfield’s Courtney-did-it “documentary” Kurt and Courtney, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is set to get a third cinematic treatment. The twist? The film—get this!—aims to be an accurate, true-story portrayal of singer/ guitarist who committed suicide in 1994.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Oren Moverman, director of 2009’s harrowing The Messenger, has been selected to direct the film, which will focus on Cobain’s final two days before his suicide. Moverman will also rewrite the script, originally titled All Apologies and written by X-Men Origins: Wolverine scribe David Benioff. Let me repeat that: “written by X-Men Origins: Wolverine scribe David Benioff.”
Courtney Love is back. At least, she’s trying to get back. She has announced that Hole will be returning and is set to play London Shephard’s Bush Empire on February 17, according to her website (via Pitchfork). The only thing is, Hole isn’t really going to be Hole. She’s pushing for a reunion and performance date to promote her new album, Nobody’s Daughter, but the band will not have any original members.
We know it’s been a tough year for Love. She lost her daughter to Cobain’s mom and sister and she’s had to deal with some unnecessary music business issues. However, does she really think she can pull all this off? Former Hole member, Eric Erlandson, says no.
