Danny Elfman and Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box Coming In December Danny Elfman and Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box Coming In December

Still wading in and out of our childhood memories with Julie Andrews and Sound of Music, we also can’t forget two other people who have given us some critically-acclaimed entertainment. Danny Elfman and Tim Burton are two peas in a pod when it comes to making some of the most credible films of our generation. With Burton bringing us some of the darkest yet surreal and enticing cinematography and Elfman providing us with his innovative and out-of-this-world musical arrangements (he was the front man of Oingo Boingo after all!), we were lucky enough to experience their collaborations on films such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas and plenty more.

There is good news for Elfman-Burton fans. Paying tribute to this great partnership, will be a magical, in-depth, detailed 25th anniversary music box. It’s about time, too. They’ve been spoiling us fans with great films and scores for over two decades now!

Burton always had a different way of portraying his tales through the lens and his choice of having Danny Elfman as his go-to-composer has made us even happier throughout the years.

Today, however, our hearts couldn’t have shot up our throats any faster than when Alice in Wonderland‘s soundtrack (titled Almost Alice) unveiled its track list. If you weren’t too fond of Paramore having the lead single for Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight film, make sure you’re sitting down before you read the next few words: Avril Lavigne will have the lead single off of the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack. Brace yourself for the track list after the jump.

  • Terminator: Salvation‘s pyrotechnic director, McG, said at New York Comic Con this weekend that he approached Thom Yorke and Babel composer Gustavo Santaolalla to craft special music for the movie, which is scored by Danny Elfman. Yorke has frequently been rumored as a participant on movie soundtracks but the rumors rarely become truth. Let’s hope both Yorke and Santaolla will squash all of the negative noise presently surrounding this film with their musical genius. [Paste]
