The David Bowie tribute album is shaping up to be quite a must-have for 2010. The new album from LA-based Manimal Vinyl remains sans title, but the 28-song track-listing is out, reports strangeglue.com, and it features a superb collection of artists covering Bowie’s music.

David Bowie is a musical legend who’s dabbled in everything the entertainment industry has to offer. He’s done a little music here, and little acting there, but he had to start at the bottom like everyone else. Since his big debut over forty years ago, an interesting piece of Bowie history has surfaced on the net. It’s a response to a 14 year old girl who sent the singer his first fan letter.

Well, now all David Bowie fans can celebrate the the musician with reissues of Space Oddity and Station to Station!
It’s been 40 years since the release of the mishmash of folk and progressive rock called Space Oddity and it makes perfect sense for Virgin/EMI to release it as a deluxe reissue. According to P4k, this redux includes: a two-disc version of the record, complete with unreleased demos, radio sessions, and several alternative album mixes. The glorious collection will be available on 2-CD set, 180-gram limited edition vinyl, and as a download starting November 3rd.

Everyone’s favorite Thin White Duke, David Bowie returns with a re-release of a special-edition EP of the spooky, rock classic “Space Oddity” on July 20, the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s stroll on the moon. This time with a DIY spin.
Four versions of the song (three edits and a 1979 rerecording) will be released as The Space Oddity Digital EP, according to Bowie’s website. Buyers will get eight tracks featuring various instruments for free, which can be rearranged and remixed by fans.
So it looks like fans aren’t too happy with Coachella this year. They are specifically pissed about The Killers being Saturday night’s headliner.
