David Lynch continues his adventures in the world of music with a fresh dose of electro-pop by way of his first original single “Good Day Today,” joined on the flip side by the cool, bluesy track “I Know.”

Both songs from the acclaimed director of films like Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet are now available on iTunes via U.K. independent label Sunday Best Recordings.

Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse‘s collaboration with David Lynch, Dark Night Of The Soul, finally got a date for its physical release. After a long battle between Danger Mouse and EMI, the two have talked things over and fortunately decided it deserved a proper package. Most music fiends have already gotten the album that was intentionally released along with a digital booklet, but now there may be new cover art as well as other new visuals from Lynch.

David Lynch, who directed films like Blue Velvet and Mulholland Dr., has produced the music and written the lyrics to a new album titled Fox Bat Strategy, which features a modern take on ’50s-style music.

The full-length title of Lynch’s new album is actually Fox Bat Strategy: A Tribute to Dave Jaurequi, dedicated to his late friend, Fox Bat Strategy guitarist and singer Dave Jaurequi, who passed away in 2006 at age 50.

The 7-track album, via Rykodisc and David Lynch Music Company, is available June 30th.

The track “Shoot The Works” is streaming exclusively on the EW website.

The Dark Night Of The Soul project from Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse and David Lynch is quite possibly one of the coolest musical collaborations to come down the creative pike in some time, but the album has been shelved because of an ongoing battle with Danger Mouse’s label EMI.

According to reports, EMI Music blocked the release of the album, due out in July, over a contractual dispute.

Moby’s Music Video by David Lynch

mobyss09 4 14 Mobys Music Video by David LynchMoby, the experimental music wiz, has a new album coming out June 30th called “Wait For Me.” It’s a record that Moby seems to have controlled every aspect of. He recorded it in his home studio, drew the album artwork, had his friends (not “rockstars”) sing on the tracks, got his friends to take the photography, and even help in the mixing room. I, personally was never too concerned with Moby’s work, but after seeing his new video, directed by David Lynch, I’m actually pretty intrigued about this new one. Tomorrow, April 15, there will be a free download on the Moby website of the new track entitled, “Shot in the Back of the Head.”

Extremely dramatic and engaging, the video consists of crude drawing that exist in a surreal and violent world. Check out the video and what Moby has to say about it below…

Review: David Lynch Foundation Benefit Concert

It was an exciting night at Key Club last Wednesday. At 6:30 a red carpet lay on the Sunset sidewalk welcoming supporters and members of the David Lynch Foundation to the fundraising event that would include both musical performances and a silent auction. By around 8:30 the club was jam packed with people sporting David Lynch Foundation shirts, placing bids on clothing articles and artwork (including the featured painting of David Lynch himself), and sipping drinks. Astra Heights was the first band to take the stage, loosening up the club with some Texas grown pop-rock. The following act was 8mm whose lead singer charmed the room with a silky voice and equally smooth moves.
