Next March, Depeche Mode will release a new album through Columbia Records. Previously, the band had spend its 30-year career with Warner Music labels Sire and Reprise and EMI’s Mute and Capitol, but they’re changing direction. In a statement, singer-songwriter Martin Gore expressed that he’s happy with how the new album has turned out.

Depeche Mode has been forced to cancel more shows after the lead singer, Dave Gahan, was struck by a severe case of gastroenteritis. He has been forced to cancel the shows in Warsaw Gwardia Stadium, Riga Skonto Stadium, and Vilnius Zalgiris Stadium in order to fully recover. At the moment, it is unclear whether those shows will be completely cancelled or rescheduled.

Depeche Mode is tearing up European charts, and electronic music resource Beatportal has invited its readers to send in remixes of the popular group’s song Peace. Beatportal is selling the track’s samples for $4, and user submissions have spanned seventeen genres, including psy trance, minimal, tech house, dubstep and drum and bass.
The best part is, you can go to the Beatportal website, and listen to all of the submitted tracks for free. The band have agreed, for the first time ever, to let the public remix one of their songs officially, and starting next week (May 26), you’ll be able to comment and vote on your favorite.

With their new release, “Sounds of the Universe“, Depeche Mode has made their triumphant return as the world’s most enterprising electronic band in its 30th year. The band kicks off their world tour in Luxembourg on May 6 and will continue to tour through the winter.
But not everyone can afford the (rather pricy) tickets. Fortunately, the band is providing fans another avenue to the live music experience. Depeche Mode will release their documentary, The Dark Progression, in DVD format on June 16. Watching the film won’t be exactly like being there for a live set, but there are plenty of extras on the DVD to keep the peeps captivated…

Here we are again as we try to find out if the rumors are true. Pitchfork has announced their intial lineup so it’s only natural for people to guess the headliners for Lollapalooza next. As another festival held in Chicago, Lollapalooza will take place from August 7th – August 9th in Grant Park.
Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys, and Jane’s Addiction are said to be a “lock in” by the Chicago Tribune. However, Billboard has reported Kings of Leon as a possible headliner as well. Check out the speculations below…
