Everyone who’s a fan of the Marvel comic, Iron Man, is getting ready for the film’s sequel. Ads on buses have appeared and there have been sneak peeks here and there. We know newcomers to the movie include Scarlett Johansson (as Tony Stark’s new assistant) and Don Cheadle (replacing Terrance Howard as Stark’s best friend), but what most of us didn’t know is that the film will also have a cameo from DJ AM.
As we’ve reported back in August, Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein unfortunately passed away from an accidental drug overdose, so it’ll be interesting to see these scenes with him which were shot just two months beforehand.

The music community mourned a great friend with DJ AM‘s tragic death back in August. With a mark left on all aspects of the entertainment industry, it wasn’t just his celebrity friends who felt the abrupt change. One of his closest friends, Travis Barker, who happened to be in a severe plane crash along with him a few months before his death, would know better than anyone.
However, it seems like Barker has finally moved on and found another DJ to jam with. With DJ AM gone, the producer/drummer (of Blink-182) has recently been teaming up with DJ A-Trak.

Hundreds of questions popped into my head last Friday on my way to Discotheque to see one of UK’s leading pioneers of sound and performance Annie Mac. We see it much too often regardless of genre of music, whether you’re a DJ, an artist, or in a band. How does a musical entity that is big overseas translate to success in the states? How will the crowd react to music that might be huge in the UK, but isn’t here in the states? How will Annie differ from DJ’s who have achieved critical acclaim in the states? Will anyone know who she is regardless of how powerful she is overseas?
Annie Mac answered all these questions and more by being a cut above every other DJ that played that night, enticing a crowd reaction that are few and far between.

If you can have a Guitar Hero why not a DJ Hero? FreeStyle games have created just that and it will be published by Activision this fall. In an extremely smart move the company decided to tap into the club hopping, DJ fan base that has gotten ignored with Guitar Hero and Rockband. A promo trailer for the game has been released and features Daft Punk reworking the classic Queen tune “We Will Rock You.” How can you not get into that?

Celebrity DJ Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM) was laid to rest Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Hollywood Palladium – less than one week after he was found dead in his New York apartment of an apparent drug overdose.
Just as Michael Jackson was being laid to rest in an extravagant ceremony across town the same evening, the farewell to Goldstein struck a more low-key note; though heavily attended by celebrity types, the service was modeled after a 12-step meeting – a system used by recovering addicts in programs like Alcoholics Anonymous.

Earlier this year, MTV paired up with the DJ AM to run a TV series similar to A&E’s well-known “Intervention,” according to Billboard.com. For eight episodes, DJ AM helped young addicts to get sober on the set of “Gone Too Far”. “I struggled for years as a drug addict and was fortunate to get help when I asked for it…’Gone Too Far’ is my platform to help people,” said DJ AM.
The series was set to premiere on October 5 but due to DJ AM’s untimely death, MTV has been put into a delicate situation. Because the 36-year-old Adam Goldstein was found dead Friday morning with drug paraphernalia discovered at the scene, it’s hard to say if the network giant will actually air the series. According to toxicology reports, Goldstein died of a drug overdose.
