They might seem like an unlikely duo, but if Spinner is to be believed, Florence Welch (the “Florence” in Florence and the Machine) and rapper Drake have decided to get together and collaborate on a song of their own. They met at last year’s MTV Music Awards and have maintained a friendship since then. Now it seems that friendship may turn into a professional relationship.

Lil Wayne recently earned his gangsta rap credentials by completing a prison sentence and since being released he’s been eager to get back to doing what he loves; performing before a crowd of adoring fans. While fellow Young Money comrade Drake was giving a concert in Las Vegas on November 6, Lil Wayne danced out onto the stage, much to the delight of just about everyone in the audience. Although it was set up to look like Drake was surprised to see Lil Wayne joining him, odds are this was a well-planned stunt.
To his credit, Lil Wayne didn’t take the opportunity to hog the spotlight. Speaking to the audience about Drake, he had the following to say:

The Soul Train Award ‘s list of nominees is in, and at the top we have Alicia Keys and Usher. Both of these artists got four nods across multiple categories. The award’s show is set to take place on Sunday, November 28, 2010.
Keys’ nominations include Best R&B/Soul Artist Female, Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Record of the Year. The Element of Freedom is Keys’ fourth studio album and from the nomination its getting, it sounds amazing. Usher also got four nods, the same categories except for Best R&B/Soul Artist Male and Best Dance Performance.

Another year has gone by and and another batch of unnecessary awards shows have also occurred to capitalize on the teen market who ave no clue the “M” in MTV used to stand for Music Television. Honing in on reality shows such as the filthy Jersey Shore and getting the best B-list celebrity talk show host to talk smack about A-list celebrities (via Chelsea Handler) basically sums up our vapid generation’s interest last night.

Last night was the big night for the music industry. The 52nd Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles’ Staples Center and everyone from Justin Beiber to Jeff Beck showed up for the special event. Also, like usual, they managed to cram in 16 performances into a three hour show.
Although, we have to admit, with the exception of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, The 3-D Michael Jackson tribute, and Mary J. Blige/Andrea Bocelli duet, the show didn’t live up to the hype last night. Whether you tuned in or missed out last night, we’ve got all the performances for you to watch below!
