E BRM 111709 Editors: BeatCrave Fav

At first listen, the vocals of Editors’ front man, Tom Smith, are so lazy and deep it’s nearly infuriating. After some serious dedication, however, the vocals and the music of this band of Birmingham boys starts to infect your ears and then your very skin to the point where you almost crave their sound.  It’s a bizarre thing, that loathing turned into love, and, if not for their recent addition the the New Moon soundtrack, may have never gotten the attention they deserve.

They’ve been making addicts of many a listener for the better half of a decade and, with the recent, “In This Light on This Evening” are showing that they’ve got an unquantifiable amount of talent for many years to come.  For their uncanny ability to be so darn good that you may want to hate them but soon discover you simply… can’t, we at BeatCrave are happy to add them to our BeatCrave Fav Series.

Death Cab For Cutie Does First Single For New Moon Soundtrack New Moon Soundtracks Complete Track Listing Announced!

The New Moon soundtrack has been announced, and it couldn’t be any more different from the first one! We knew it was going to have an indie sound, but this is just ridiculous! Ridiculous in a good way, anyway.

We had known about Thom Yorke, Bon Iver, Band of Skulls, and Death Cab For Cutie but who knew the Bon Iver track was going to be a duet with St. Vincent! Others that were recently suspected and now confirmed are The Killers, Grizzly Bear, and Stephanie Meyer’s muse, Muse.

Although one part of us is surprised that indie darlings, Anya Marina and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, are also in the mix, another part says this makes sense. A few of these artists are somehow associated with Alexandra Patsavas’ label, Chop Shop, or her close friends, Nettwerk Music Group. Check out the full track list below and tell us what you think!

Three guys and a British indie-rock band. It kind of sounds like a good movie idea, but actually it’s who BeatCrave have on tap this week(end) for upcoming music.

Look for the Editors to release their third album, In This Light And On This Evening, on September 21. This will be the band’s third album, following their debut, The Back Room, and follow up An End Has A Start.

Lead singer Tom Smith told NME the new album is influenced by science fiction films such as Blade Runner.
