Ellen DeGeneres is just about our favorite person on television. With her many jokes and entertaining dancing numbers, DeGeneres gets away with anything and everything. Which brings me to my next order of business, the newest member of the American Idol judging panel is starting a record label (gasp). It turns out, she’s pretty legit in the music industry (so shame on you for questioning her position on American Idol). Oh but the surprise doesn’t end. Not until the fat lady sings, or rather yet, the 12-year-old boy who wowed everyone with his retention of Lady Gaga‘s “Paparazzi.”

When Paula Abdul resigned from her post as a judge on American Idol via Twitter, many were hesitant on talk show host and comedienne, Ellen Degeneres replacing her on the panel. Her debut aired last night on Fox as part of the Hollywood phase for contestants, and although we’ve seen her as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance this past summer, her demeanor on the competitive singing show seemed to show some surprising poise and just enough wit to ease viewers’ anxieties.
Avid American Idol viewers or as some people would call themselves, “experts,” couldn’t wait to put their two cents in on DeGeneres’ performance as a newly christened judge. Although mixed, the results have generally come in positive.

Welcome to the music ‘biz Ellen DeGeneres. Just a day after being named the fourth host of American Idol, some of the world’s largest recording companies are suing you.
It seems that producers of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” violated copyright law by playing more than 1,000 songs on the daytime talk show without permission. “Ellen” fans know that the fun-loving host likes to dance around to popular songs chosen by a DJ., usually with the audience, a guest or whenever. She likes to dance.
But the labels are having none of it! You want to dance, Ellen? Pay the music license.

Just a little over a month after Paula Abdul quit American Idol via twitter, Fox has announced that long-time fan and talk-show host, Ellen DeGeneres, has been announced as her replacement.
DeGeneres who says, “”I don’t know how it happened myself, but I have not missed one episode of that show,” has been partnered up with Fox for about two weeks before she finally announced it on her talk show on Wednesday. Although she has been a guest on So You Think You Can Dance since she is also an avid fan of dancing, the talk-show host does not have any particular training in the music field other than being a fan again. The American Idol gig will become her “night gig” as she will not be canceling her talk show in order fill the position.

When did Ellen Degeneres get into the business of premiering music videos? High profile ones too! Kanye West stopped by The Ellen Show and premiered his “Love Lockdown” video.
It has the basic synopsis of heartbroken superstar dwelling in an expensive looking room with the look of Kanye’s apparent love for neon colors.
