The rumors regarding Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump leaving the band are true…somewhat. Stump doesn’t want fans to think he’s leaving his crew in the dust for his own selfish reasons, in fact he refuses to call his upcoming album a “solo project.” Let’s just think of it as a creative “break.” According to MTV, the singer recently spoke about his music and the direction he plans on taking.

Let’s take a quick looks at what’s going wrong with musicians today…
- Lilly Allen apparently has some grandpa issues. After meeting Lucian Freud, the German-born, 86 year old painter who resides in London, Allen felt the urge to get in bed with him. “I met him and I thought ‘I want to shag [him].’ It would be funny. He’s four times my age” Allen stated. Ummm, funny? That’s just nasty, Lilly, nasty. [NME]
- Lux Interior, the frontman for the influential punk band, The Cramps, died yesterday at 4:30 pm at Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale, CA. Interior, whose real name was Erik Lee Purkhiser, passed away due to a previously existing heart condition. Survived by Poison Ivy, his wife and band member, Interior will be remembered for his wild stage antics and influence on the 70′s punk scene in New York. [NME]

For a show that started as a rival to the traditional New Year’s fare, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve has sure changed. The show originally had artists that challenged the establishment – one of the first shows was hosted by George Carlin – but now none of that remains, as can be seen in the choice of co-host Ryan Seacrest and the artists who will perform this year, including Jesse McCartney, Fall Out Boy, and the newest additions, Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers.

November 4th is an important date for both politicians and voters, as well as bands and music fans. The proof is in how many musicians whom have decided to release albums on election day. Chris Cornell, Filter, Switchfoot and even Lindsay Lohan (although I don’t think she has any link to politics) have chosen November 4th for their official release dates.
Fall Out Boy used to be part of this group. They have now decided to change the date to December 16th. Although they originally intertwined the two future events as something great, the band has changed their minds in fear of actually not being able to do what they planned.
