The Fiery Furnaces have always been very opinionated – or passionate, if you’d like to use that term instead. Brother and sister, Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger are about being genuine, original, and definitely “not concerned about selling t-shirts.”

We’re all for musicians speaking their minds, whether we asked for their thoughts or not in the first place, and the duo has been commendable especially since they recently turned their shows into Health Care Reform rallies. However, in a recent interview the two go as far as calling Radiohead “frauds” when they talk about what a musician should be.

Brother and sister duo, Fiery Furnaces, have always shared encourage with their fans and friends but now the New York city-based band has taken it all one step further. Recently, they have made it obvious that they are now part of the “Democ-Rock” movement where it’s “Democ-Rock vs. Bore-Core!”

Fiery Furnaces have both posted lengthy messages on every social platform they could get their hands on announcing that their shows have become health care reform rallies. As they emphasize the importance of showing the world that this current generation has not given up the political movement, they suggest spreading the passion through music:
