With a new album on the way and a major tour in the near future, it’s safe to say that a lot of alt-rock music fans have been interested to see what the Foo Fighters have in store for them. Since the band’s start in the 90s, they’ve risen to rock mega-stardom and asserted their place as one of music’s most popular acts.

It’s a sad time for emo kids everywhere. Tuesday night marked the final night of Spaceland Productions’ after an impressive 16-year run at the Silver Lake night club. The club went out on a high note with the Foo Fighters playing a full show for the 260-capacity venue. The rock veterans played their new record from start to finish as well as additional a number of their hits to get the crowd moving. During the set Grohl told everyone that Spaceland was where they made their LA premier, opening for local band Lutefisk, all the way back in 1995 and that they were sad to see it go.

Spinner reports that the next Foo Fighters album, the follow-up to 2007′s Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace, is complete and ready for a spring 2011 release. Lead singer Dave Grohl confirms that the band is ready to release music again, and describes the latest disc as both “simple” and “massive.”

And apparently selling out massive venues isn’t a problem. All 130,000 tickets for the Foo Fighters’ historic Milton Keynes Bowl weekender have sold out within hours of going on sale 9 am Friday 5 November.

Them Crooked Vultures is one super-group that is not going to quit. With Dave Grohl also releasing a Greatest Hits album with his group Foo Fighters, he and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, and Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme seem to be pretty happy as they finally share their music with the world after working together for so long out of the public eye.
