It’s been a slow week for the music industry, but still, we at BeatCrave managed to scrape up some worthy news from the depths of the internet. This week, Chris Brown is in the news again, not for his collaboration with ex-girlfriend Rihanna, but for stealing a woman’s phone. Adele also made headlines, and history, on the Billboard 200; and President Obama sang a tune at a recent fundraiser. All that and more, below.

It looks like McKinley’s Glee club will be staying in Lima, Ohio this year. According to Entertainment Weekly, the cast of Fox’s hit musical show “Glee” won’t be touring this summer. Instead, the cast will perform a one-time benefit show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Does no tour mean no more “Glee”? Find out below.

The rapper known as Pitbull may be joining Glee. Typically, I like to start off a news post with a little joke, but I felt like that opening sentence just couldn’t be topped in terms of hilarity. Apparently, the rapper who nabbed the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 this summer with his hit “Give Me Everything,” is in talks to join the worst television show ever. So now you have another reason to watch.

Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t new to singing. 2000′s aptly named film Duets first captured her and her vocal chops with Huey Lewis. Picking things back up with last year’s Country Song, and this year with Cee-Lo Green after taking on the role of substitute teacher Holly Holliday on FOX’s Glee has assured that she will be singing more in public and less in the shower for the foreseeable future. The recurring Paltrow and fellow Glee cast member Matthew Morrison have teamed up to record a duet of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, most notably made famous by none other than Judy Garland in the film adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s “Wizard of Oz”.

“Glee” may just be a fictional TV show, but in terms of music sales, it is very real. The covers of famous pop songs sung by the cast members have sold enough to qualify the New Directions as a legitimate music group all their own. Now their on-screen rivals, the Dalton Academy Warblers, will be getting a chance to sell some records, with an album from that group set for an April 19 release date.

You could be forgiven for assuming that you’d never hear about Kid Rock again unless he committed some heinous crime (the best way for stars to get back in the limelight!), but the rocker and bad-fashion guru has somehow managed to hold on to enough of a fan base to keep his name relevant. Relevant enough to perform on Vh1′s Super Bowl Fan Jam tonight, February 3, at least.
Fantastic.

Football fans and “Glee” fans may not seem like the same kind of people, but when it comes to the Super Bowl, everybody in America is watching, so it helps to appeal to as many fans as possible. So, while the Black Eyed Peas have been recruited to deliver the half-time show–a departure from the classic rock acts which have dominated that part of the game for the past few years–Lea Michele from “Glee” has been asked to kick everything off (not literally) by singing “America the Beautiful.”

Round one between Glee creator Ryan Murphy and Kings Of Leon featured Murphy calling the band “self-centered assholes” for not letting him use their music on the show, then calling out the band for hating on ‘arts education’ for kids everywhere who wanna rock.
KOL’s Caleb Followill responded calmly by saying the whole hubbub was ‘a shock,’ clearly trying to put a non-story to rest.
But brother Nathan Followill stirred the pot and now Murphy is pissed off again; he’s accused Nathan of homophobia, according to NME.
