Jane’s Addiction are back in action, recording a new album and headlining the Gathering of the Vibes Festival along with Elvis Costello. While their early albums, Nothing’s Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual, are alt-rock landmarks that fused funk, punk and metal in, forgive us for the lame pun, a very addictive manner, last time they reunited, we got Strays. Which kind of sucked.
Fans aren’t sure what to expect this time around, but the band recently made a new song, “End to the Lies,” available for download via their official website. It kind of doesn’t suck.

Lollapalooza, the music and arts festival conceived by Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell, will be celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year. The festival itself is still months away–it runs from August 6-8 in Chicago’s Grant Park–but Babble is reporting that a virtual time capsule has been created on the official website to commemorate two decades of musical celebration.

The long-awaited news that the world has been desperately clamoring for has finally been leaked—according to Spinner, Dave Navarro has announced the fourth Jane’s Addiction record will be released in early 2011. When talking to people about it they often say “you just had to be there.” Well, a Friday night in 2010 brought BeatCrave the opportunity to be there. Jane’s Addiction, a pioneer and force of the 80’s Strip scene, announced a special show for its fans where they would be bringing back the attitude, the style and all the boozed up chicks to the Roxy Theatre for a huge bash and their fans.
Huge would be an understatement. It would be the right way to describe the line which ran way down sunset with many fans that had spent 12+ hours in line. Those that were lucky enough to gain entry were in for quite a show. A show that would not start with an opening band but something more suited for a crowd of freaky super fans.

BeatCrave hopes everyone had the best of Cinco De Mayo’s as the 2010 version is one that will go down in our memories. Last night we were on the scene at one of our favorite secrets in Hollywood, Bardot, to catch the exclusive live debut of Jane’s Addiction new line up featuring bassist Duff McKagan (of Guns N’ Roses fame).

Our speculations were correct! It just proves that duck-duck-goose game still works for rumor-rumor-fact news. When we reported Eric Avery’s departure from Jane’s Addiction, we had a huge hunch that former Guns N’ Roses bassist, Duff McKagan, would be replacing him. Now we not only have an official statement from their representatives, but we also have proof!
