Eric Avery Really Quits Janes Addiction Eric Avery Really Quits Janes Addiction

No one really enjoys spreading rumors, but word does go around when a credible source is sharing the information. Just like any news, whether it is for a festival lineup or change in a band lineup, the process still takes the similar path to a duck-duck-goose game: Rumor-rumor-fact. In this case, the rumor-now-fact involves former Jane’s Addiction bass player, Eric Avery.

Yes, you read right. Former bass player for Jane’s Addiction. Eric Avery has really quit Jane’s Addiction for good.

Jane Addiction Janes Addiction Set For Intimate London Show

If you happen to be in London, or perhaps jetting into London Thursday, perhaps attending a rare, intimate Jane’s Addiction performance might be of interest.

The California rockers are currently on a world tour with Nine Inch Nails, but will veer from their schedule for a low-key gig at Centro in Holburn tomorrow evening 9 (July 16). The Chapman Family and Loverman will open the night. Tickets (£8) will be sold first come, first served on the door, which open at 9pm.

Jane’s Addiction just performed at T In The Park, the music festival that has been held annually in Scotland since 1994. The group recently threw their hat into the ring to play the Voodoo Experience in New Orleans over Halloween weekend. The Voodoo Experience showcases three performance areas – Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le Carnival – and eight stages; this is meant to highlight a unique side of the personality of New Orleans.

Nine Inch Nails will tour with Jane’s Addiction across the globe during 2009, and then go on hiatus indefinitely. Trent Reznor posted on the Nine Inch Nails official site:

“In NIN world, 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of our first releases. I’ve been thinking for some time now, it’s time to make NIN disappear for a while.”

So this will be our last chances to see the band. Reznor also says that the performances will be “much more raw, spontaneous and less scripted,” in comparison with the “Lights in the Sky” tour last year.
