Deerhunter and Atlas Sound‘s Bradford Cox will be making his big screen debut in an upcoming AIDS drama titled The Dallas Buyers Club. But that’s not all. The frontman will be playing Jared Leto‘s lover, a cross-dresser who is drying of AIDS. Heavy.
As part of his attempts to escape the “teen idol” status that comes along with starring as one of the romantic male leads in the Twilight films, actor Robert Pattinson has been seeking more adult fare to showcase his [debatable] acting skills. One project he’s particularly interested in may be a biopic of the late Jeff Buckley.
Kanye West and Jared Leto working together? Yes; it’s true!
A while ago, the blog-happy rapper turned singer, Kanye West posted a photo of him standing with Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars (and Brandon Flowers of The Killers). With this photo, he mentioned that he would be teaming up with Leto and now as odd as it seems, the statement has actually become a reality.
According to mtv.com/news, the collaboration of West singing (without autotune) with Leto is titled “Hurricane” and it will actually appear on 30 Seconds to Mar’s long awaited album, This Is War! The album was slated for April 2009, but that period has obviously passed. Perhaps this is the reason why they are so late with the release?
