With Simon Cowell focusing his efforts on his new talent show “X-Factor“, popular music stars Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler have had to do their best filling in for him on “American Idol.” Whether or not they are doing a good job at it is up for debate, but Cowell seems to think J-Lo would make a strong judge; he asked her to ditch the “Idol” gig and come join the panel on his show.

Jennifer Lopez will be a judge on the next season of “American Idol,” but don’t expect to hear too many of her hits being sung during the early audition episodes. Along with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and familiar face Randy Jackson, Lopez recently finished a round of LA auditions and although she says it was “super entertaining and flattering” to see hopefuls perform her tunes, she’d prefer it if the contestants chose songs from another artist.
