Poor Justin Bieber has been having something of a rough patch these days. Despite his rabid and fervent army of Beliebers, he’s been getting into more and more skirmishes with the paparazzi, and is-get this, you guys—coming off just a little bit like a spoiled, out of touch, and entitled rich kid. And it seems that the rest of America is more or less getting sick of him, according to a recent music-related survey from Public Policy Polling, who also testing Americans about their feelings on Lady Gaga, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift and more.

Of all the hopes that one could have for Anne Frank—that she and her family would not have be persecuted by the Nazis the early 1940s, that she wouldn’t have had to go into hiding, that she and her family weren’t gathered up and sent to a concentration camp, and finally, that she wouldn’t have died from typhus at the age of 15 while still a prisoner of the Nazis—it was Justin Bieber for finally articulated the one hope for this poor girl that stands above all the others: “Hopefully she would have been a Belieber.”

The Grammy nominees were finally announced this week. There were a lot of surprises in the categories, including the fact that no female artist is up for Best Album Of The Year. But the ladies weren’t the only ones who got snubbed. Justin Bieber was also left out of the running. The teenage sensation received zero nominations, and that got his manager, Scooter Braun very upset. Also, Dave Grohl released the trailer for his music-documentary Sound City, which is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival early next year. All that and more below.

Well, last Sunday night was that annual very special night for music and the recording industry. No, not the Grammys. Or the MTV Video Music Awards. Or the Billboard Awards, or the People’s Choice Awards. No, it wasn’t the CMT Awards, the Latin Grammys, or the BET Awards. This week, Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler announced that if the band were to stay together, they would leave Columbia Records for good and go the indie route. He’s done it before, he can do it again. Justin Bieber released another music video, this time for “Beauty and a Beat,” just another song about wanting a girlfriend. And Lana Del Rey debuted a music video about what it’s like to be crazy. It’s like kissing a bunch of old dudes apparently. All that and more below.

Here’s something you might want to save until you’re quite finished digesting whatever it was that served as your last meal: a video of Lady Gaga vomiting three times during a live performance of her song “Edge of Glory” during a concert in Barcelona. So, hey gang, want to see a pop star vomit a lot (in case Justin Bieber’s live vomiting wasn’t enough last week?), well, here you go.

All that and more below.

Lyrically and sonically contrived to act as a three-minute fantasy in which Justin Bieber can “be everything you want, hey, girl,” (actual lyrics) for the tween and teen audiences that just devour this stuff, the Biebs’ new single, “Boyfriend,” was released on Monday. Mysteriously enough, the skies did not darken with the blood of space-lambs, nor did the Earth shudder beneath the weight of the billions of locusts that arrived to consume us all. So I suppose the single isn’t as bad as it could have been. Listen to the track below.

This week Fiona Apple unveiled a 23-word album title, Justin Bieber‘s mom decided to write a memoir, and Katy Perry appeared on “Raising Hope“ as an ugly prison guard (with a mustache). Whoa, that was a mouthful. So, it’s that time of the week again, to catch up on the last seven days of music news…
