Justin Bieber may have the natural talent that scored him major musical attention and turned him into a star nearly overnight, but that doesn’t mean he can always take the pressure of being a teen and a celebrity, as evidenced this week when, according to Yahoo!, the singer posted a series of angry messages to the paparazzi via Twitter expressing his sense that the unyielding media attention he has received during a trip to Israel has forced him to spend most of the time hiding in his hotel room.

With the line between country and pop thinning these days thanks to the likes of Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum, it’s no surprise that popular artists in the genre are looking to attract a wider audience. While the group Rascal Flatts hasn’t ever experienced the massive success of Swift, they are icons in their own right, and according to ShowBiz Spy, they recently gave their popularity a boost by recording a song with none other than Justin Bieber.

Hard to tell where this Justin Bieber ‘thing’ is ultimately headed, but in the meantime the young singer is about as ubiquitous as it gets in pop music these days. Good or bad, it’s happening, and now Rolling Stone has joined the party with a cover story that hits newsstands this week.
“Justin Bieber takes Rolling Stone contributing editor Vanessa Grigoriadis for a spin around Atlanta in his Range Rover,” goes the RollingStone.com preview.

This weekend promises to be a big weekend for lovable scamp/ lesbian chic aficionado Justin Bieber, as the delightful lil’ pop star that could is set to perform at the Grammy Awards, where he’s also nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal awards. And, just in case you were worried, let the Biebs assure you that his performance will be full of surprises—including guest spots by Usher and the increasingly ever-present harbinger of the apocalypse or at least our own culture-death Jaden Smith.

Because enough wasn’t done to tarnish the relationship between the United States and Europe during the eight years of the Bush presidency, Willow Smith (one of Will Smith’s two sacrificial lambs offered up to pop culture in recent years) will be joining Justin Bieber on a tour of Europe early next year, spreading their plague of wholesome American pop craptaculars to hopefully engender the further deterioration of ties and relationships between the U.S. and Europe.

Well, the 2011 Grammy nominations were announced last night during a special on CBS, and gosh dang heck, wouldn’t ya know it, they kind of, well, sucked. ‘Sucked’ in that way in which you can tell the Grammy organization continued to trend downward by nominating musicians not for their artistic worth, but for buzz, albums sold, and pop culture currency (of course, I could totally be wrong, because Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream isn’t really a cynical mishmash of ProTool’d modern pop clichés, meaningless lyrics and hyperslick session musician pap, but indeed is one of the five greatest albums recorded in 2010).

Last night, the 2010 American Music Awards (a.k.a. the music awards ceremony for viewers who find the Grammys, MTV Video Music Awards, Billboard Awards, People’s Choice Awards, BET Awards, the CMAs, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies to be far too fast-paced and complicated) were held at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre. It was yet another in a long line of red-carpeted awards shows that allowed music celebs to hold a mass pagan orgy of blackslappery and Black Eyed Peas legitimizing (scary, I know). And the whole mess belonged, for the most part, to the one they call Bieber.

I honestly can’t even work up the bile for this one. I’m just going to hunker down in the bomb shelter, eat a few cans of food, and wait for the inevitable darkness to wash all of this away—as it turns out, the two most popular music-based costumes this year are… ok, stiff upper lip, Travis, you can do this… Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. At least, according to MTV, who by spreading this dangerous and hurtful information is about as reckless as Naomi Watts recording that death tape at the end of The Ring:
