U2is back with a video for their single, “Get On Your Boots.” We’re pretty sure that the band’s hardcore fans are excited for pretty much everything that has to do with New Line on the Horizon, but what about this video? Not only does it have similar elements to the Killers’ new video, “Spaceman” (the space and the skull theme) but there is a ton going on. Videos may be getting cooler with special effects these days, but they also continue to make less sense.
However, according to Hot Press, here’s what The Edge thought:
It’s based around the idea that men have fucked things up so badly, politically, economically and socially that it’s really time we handed things over to women. We had our doubts when we saw a rough cut – but the finished video is brilliant. He’s really nailed it.
Killers guitarist Dave Keuning told NME about the first push to start the band in 2001: the post 9/11 economic crisis that left all the members unemployed for months.
“When I met Brandon, for about a year it was just me and him in the band,” Keuning said, “Our first phone call was just before 9/11, and we started practicing right around 9/11. I got fired just before then, because the store I was working at wasn’t doing any business anyway.”

The Killers’ new album, “Day & Age”, comes out today (of all days, on a Monday?) and is on sale at Amazon.mp3 for $3.99. I love when Amazon does these kinds of deals, because it really motivates both the artist and the consumer. The artist moves more units, while the consumer gets a deal.
If you haven’t heard of the Killers, you’ve probably been living under a rock. “Day & Age” is the Killers’ third studio album, but for a band that’s only been around since 2002, 6 years means this album better have 6 years worth of good stuff on it. My expectations are high. Has anyone had a listen yet? What do you think?
