Taylor Swift may have skyrocketed to stardom, but at least she’s grounded enough to know that she has the people who raised her to thank for the massive success she’s experienced over the last couple of years. According to Yahoo!, the country pop star recently dug into her ever-expanding bank account and bought her parents a house in Nashville for the hefty sum of $1.4 million.
See parents, you gotta teach your kids a talent when they are young.

It wasn’t too long ago that the generic answer one received after asking the question, “What’s your favorite type of music?” was, “Oh, I’ll listen to anything as long as it’s not country.” This response sounds ridiculous, as it suggests that the person saying it would rather hear polka music, Raffi, and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch than listen to one track by Tim McGraw, but no one really questioned it. After all, who likes country music?

Is it me or does it seem like there are 12 country music award shows every year? Nevertheless, for the 45th Academy of Country Music Awards, it was Lady Antebellum who stole the show with five awards, including the monster trio of song of the year, single of the year and vocal group.
Nominated for seven awards, the Lady A threesome of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood were denied album of the year honors; their self-titled album lost out to Miranda Lambert’s Revolution.

I’m here to bring you good music for a decent price thanks to amazon. You should never pay too much just to enjoy the music you like. This week I found a great deal on veteran musician Sade’s new album. Soldier of Love is her sixth album to date. She has not lost her touch. The soulfulness in her voice reveals every emotion she is feelings while she is singing. At just over $10b – that is a true find. There are other talented artists/groups with good deals on MP3 albums this week.

It’s been a big year for country music. Thanks to pop crossovers such as Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, country has become a little mainstream nowadays. Not only did those two pop stars win numerous awards at both CMT and Grammys, but they’ve created a new niche for country artists who wanted to give us more of a folk pop edge such as Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum.
Although majorly billed as a country act, Lady Antebellum’s quick success also grew on the pop charts for 2009 and their outreach level has soared even more after their Grammy performance from Sunday. Their latest album, Need You Now, has debuted at No. 1 on the US Pop chart which makes them the biggest first-week tally for a country act since November 2008.

Last night was the big night for the music industry. The 52nd Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles’ Staples Center and everyone from Justin Beiber to Jeff Beck showed up for the special event. Also, like usual, they managed to cram in 16 performances into a three hour show.
Although, we have to admit, with the exception of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, The 3-D Michael Jackson tribute, and Mary J. Blige/Andrea Bocelli duet, the show didn’t live up to the hype last night. Whether you tuned in or missed out last night, we’ve got all the performances for you to watch below!
